Srijana Showalter

I was born and raised in Nepal - at the foothills of the Himalayas. A place of breathtaking beauty and devastating poverty, I grew up observing and experiencing the duality of life firsthand. Joy and pain. Hope and sorrow. I always knew I wanted to help alleviate suffering and bring healing into this world. I was given an opportunity to formally pursue those very goals as a social work student at Eastern Mennonite University. Life’s adventures then took me to Austin, Texas, where I received my Master’s in Clinical Social Work. Now, more than a decade later and following countless other unforeseen adventures, I have the privilege of continuing to do my life’s work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Shenandoah Valley - my cherished home away from home.

Marie-Claire Hunter

I am a supervisee in clinical social work with over 15 years of experience in the grief and bereavement field. I have spent my career supporting individuals through loss, while also guiding those who accompany others in their grief journeys. As someone with a French-American background, I am sensitive to the ways culture can influence one’s experience of grief. I value creating a therapeutic space where individuals feel heard and supported as they move through grief at their own pace.
